May Allah's peace and blessings be upon you my sisters,
I wrote this article because I am really sad as prices go up every day.

Medicines: A Blessing or A Burden?!

I did not think that the unbelievable hiking prices ,that have reached the necessary human needs such as food, fuel, building materials, and public services, have reached medicines, too until last week when a friend of my family whose wife suffers from diabetes, a chronic disease, visited us late at night to ask for help because he was shocked by the price of the diabetes medicine that reached 150 RS. He can't afford this price as he is poor and unemployed due to his health conditions.

He found one of his friends who helped him, but what about people who may not find anyone to give them a hand such as patients suffering from heart diseases, pressure, diabetes ,and so on .How can people avoid such difficult situations and the risk of getting into debts because of medicines?

We may overlook the hiking prices of many commodities, but what justifies the high prices of medicines ? Aren't they a human need which their loss may cause death or a sufferance that can lead to greater problems?

There will be serious effects if this problem is not solved. I hope that the Ministry of Health sets suitable prices for medicines, activates the health centers spread throughout the residential districts, and facilitates getting medicines periodically either for free or at least for a small fee.

Finally, Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet of Allah, peace be upon him, said: ''Whosoever removes a worldly grief from a believer, Allah will remove from him one of the griefs of the Day of Judgment. Whosoever alleviates (the lot of) a needy person, Allah will alleviate (his lot) in this world and the Hereafter. Whosoever shields a Muslim , Allah will shield him in this world and the Hereafter. Allah will aid his(of His ) so long as the servants aids his brother.''
Narrated by Muslim in these words.

Traders do not think at all about human beings, not all of them, the mostly think about their money and how to get it in the easiest methods

Unfortunately, the governments did not do anything that satisfies the people which can improve their situations

Most people are compainting in these days but nobody wants to change the hard situation we face nowadays

لم أكن أعتقد أن ارتفاع الأسعار الجنوني الذي قد مس احتياجات البشر الضرورية كالمواد الغذائية ومواد البناء والمحروقات والخدمات العامة قد طال أسعار الأدوية إلا بعد أن زارنا في ساعة متأخرةً من الليل الأسبوع الماضي زميل للأِِسرة تعاني زوجته من مرض السكر -المرض المزمن- ليطلب يد العون , حيث أنه تفاجأ بأن سعر الدواء قد ارتفع إلى 150 ريالاً ! وهو لا يملك هذا المبلغ لضيق ذات اليد , فهو عاطل عن العمل لظروفه الصحية .

صديقنا وجد من يساعده من أصدقائه ميسوري الحال لكن ما مصير من قد لا يجد من يساعده على شراء الأدوية الضرورية كمرضى : السكر والقلب والضغط وغيرهم ممن يعانون من الأمراض المزمنة وكيف يمكن أن يتجنب الأشخاص الوقوع في حرج طلب المساعدة وخطر الوقوع في الديون بسبب الأدوية ؟

قد نتغاضى عن ارتفاع أسعار كثير من السلع .. ولكن ما مبرر غلاء الأدوية؟ .. أليست الأدوية حاجةً إنسانية قد يؤدي فقدها إلى الموت أو المعاناة التي قد يترتب عليها مخاطر أكبر ؟

سيترتب على هذه المشكلة آثار خطيرة إذا لم تعالج , أتمنى أن تسعر الأدوية بأسعار مناسبة من قبل وزارة الصحة وأن تقوم الوزارة بتفعيل المراكز الصحية المنتشرة في الأحياء السكنية , وأن تسهل على كل مواطن يسكن بالقرب منها الحصول على الأدوية دورياً بالمجان أو على الأقل أن يطالب المرضى بدفع جزء من التكلفة وتتحمل الحكومة بقية المبلغ .

وأختم كلامي بحديث الرسول الكريم صلى الله عليه وسلم الذي رواه أبو هريرة رضي الله عنه حيث قال: "من نفّس عن مؤمن كربة من كرب الدنيا نفّس الله عنه كربة من كرب يوم القيامة ؛ ومن يسّر على معسر يسّر الله عليه في الدنيا والآخرة ؛ ومن ستر مسلما ستره الله في الدنيا والآخرة ، والله في عون العبد ما كان العبد في عون أخيه" الحديث رواه مسلم بهذا اللفظ.
